Earrings are an important part of every woman’s wardrobe,
whether we are headed for a day at the beach, to the office, or
to a wedding. Your earrings give a subtle hint about your
personality.
You can change the entire look and feel of your wardrobe by
adding the right earrings. You can bring out your softer
feminine side, the sexy goddess, or present simple charm,
sophistication, or elegance. For both men and women, today
earrings are a definite fashion statement.

Earrings have been a part of human culture since 3000 BC. In
past times, earrings actually established your position in
society, because only royalty and very wealthy were able to
afford expensive jewelry. Fine jewelry was worn by only the
wealthy. The rest of the population also wore earrings to
decorate their body, but they were replicas of high society
jewelry.

There are many styles of earrings. There are quite literally
thousands of choices. There is an earring style for every
personality. Fine jewelry remains popular with precious stones
such as sapphire and emeralds. Semi precious stones are also
very popular. But even more popular are the costume jewelry
earrings. These are affordable, look great, and are great for
staying trendy and in style.

From dangles, to chandeliers, to droplets, to hoops, to studs.
The choices and styles are never ending. If you don’t have
pierced ears, no worries! These days there is a terrific
selection or clip on earrings available. You can be dazzling,
subtle, glamorous, sexy. You can be highly refined,
professional, high classed, or fun and funky, and trendy!

You can never have enough earrings. Your earrings can add the
finishing touches your outfit. Change your earrings and you can
change the entire appearance of your look. Think about that
little black dress you own. Add a pair of sapphire studs and
you’ll be highly refined. Add a pair of large chandelier
rhinestones and you’ll be Hollywood glamour. Add a pair of wood
dangles, and a pair of flip flops and you’ll look fun and funky.
Add a pair of red button earrings with a red bead necklace and
you’ll be “so sexy.”

It’s amazing what a pair of earrings can do to your look! So
keep a good selection of earrings on hand to meet all your
fashion needs. Earrings are the most important wardrobe
accessory you can own. You’ll get great value from your
earrings. Choose earrings that meet your life style, your
personality, and your tastes. There is no point in buying a pair
of trendy earrings that you’ll never wear because they don’t
feel like “you.”

Earrings also make a great gift as they can be very
personalized. Choose a style to meet their personality. From
gemstones to beads, you can spend a little or you can spend a
lot. The gift recipient will be thrilled that you were so
thoughtful as to buy such a personal gift.

Use your earrings to make a lasting impression, from the board
room to the beach. Be sure people remember who you are. It’s
important to always Make Your Fashion Statement!

Selecting A Complementary Bag For Your Womanly Build

Posted under Accessories by Joyce on March 23rd, 2008 10:34 am

Finicky or selective traits are great to have, ladies, especially if you’re shopping for new additions to an already fine-tuned and maintained wardrobe. But, should scrutiny apply for us women when shopping and buying for a new handbag? The answer quite simply is yes. As a most overlooked shopping strategy, deciding on a specific handbag that proves complementary to one’s physical frame is unquestionably quintessential to looking fabulous.

Maintaining Proportional Fashion Sensibility

Even more important than looking your best, is a less-noted fashion scheme of maintaining balance, as being proportionate is utterly crucial. Proportionate here implies the ratio of your frame and/or build to the specifications of your handbag. The goal here is to aesthetically please fashion eyes by displaying yourself as one with well-planned symmetric fashion, rather than disproportionate, asymmetrical style. Achieving this level of outfit to handbag balance isn’t too out of reach.

Shape It Up

Selecting the shape of your new handbag is dire, especially in keeping with maintaining complementary handbag to body-type quotients. When choosing the shape of a handbag keep opposites in mind. Opposite in the sense that you want a handbag unlike your physique. For example, if you are a tall and slim women, go out of your way to pinpoint a more rounded or curved style bag; a hobo bag would be perfect in this case. Contrastingly, if you’re rather short and curvy, opt for a more sleek and elongated or even a tall and rectangularly shaped handbag, comparable to a standard ‘clutch.’

A general rule of thumb is to play off opposites when selecting a handbag, solely based off your figure. This is not to say that you will be stuck to a specific and rather run-on-the-mill style though, ladies. Remember, you can avoid carrying around a hard lunch pail, of sorts, just by being creative. Opt for softer, yet still rectangular or square shaped handbags, but ones with more sophisticated or creatively tailored fabrics.

Some popularly used and diversely shaped handbags include the following: a tote, duffel, hobo bag, field bag, satchel, baguette, clutch, messenger, cigar box or pouch.

Size Yourself Up

Now, while handbag shape should contrast your womanly build to gain complimentary appeal, the actual size of your handbag must be proportionate to your true-to-life frame. To accomplish matching handbag to frame proportions, consider utilizing an architectural tool, something called ’scale.’

The key here is to in a sense ‘build’ or ‘construct’ your handbag and physique through means of taking into account proper scale. Consider the following scenarios. A rather tall woman with significantly larger sized heels would look ridiculous toting a tiny, pouch type bag around town. Similarly, if a Ms. Size Nothing were to lug a duffel sized bag while on city sidewalks, you’d probably question what she was doing, both fashionably and criminally.

Also, consider a shoulder bags length when meeting proportional requirements; wherever the bottom of the bag falls in terms of body-positioning, that point will be accentuated. For example, have a bag end where your hips are and eyes will be drawn to your hip region, which isn’t a bad option since most women toting a bag mid-torso look stunning due to waist flattery.

By considering the above not only will you be able to soften your figure with just the right sized and shaped handbag, but you’ll also turn a few heads. So, what are you waiting for, ladies? Take the above fashion tips, plan by them and take them into action. You’ll magically ’shed’ a few pounds, primp your fashion sense and be able to strut your new handbag-trotting, yet proportional self out on the town with increased confidence.

Hobo Purses - Fashion Is Now Comfortable!

Posted under Accessories by Joyce on September 30th, 2007 8:42 am

By Tanya Turner

Isn’t it great, when what is currently in fashion is also
comfortable and practical? Totes and hobo purses are this year’s
favorites. Find out how to select the best one for you.

A tote is an open-top bag that has straps or handles; you can
wear it over your shoulder or carry in your hand. A hobo bag is
a crescent-shaped bag that hangs from your shoulder. Both are
large, so you can fit a lot of stuff in them.

You can get totes and hobo bags in just about any color.
Bright-colored handbags are hot this year, but bear in mind
that, if you have a large, brightly colored bag, it will attract
attention. What I mean is that you don’t want your bag to
overpower your outfit or face. However, if you wear a plain
outfit in a classic color, like black, grey or white, you can
brighten it up with a green or orange purse.

The most popular materials are luxurious leather, leatherette,
canvas, linen, tapestry and straw. Combinations of leather and
fabric also look very stylish, but are more affordable than
leather.

Hobo bags and totes also come with beautiful prints on them;
totes that feature celebrities are particularly popular, just
now. Animal lovers can get totes that have adorable pictures of
pups or kittens on them. You can even order a custom made tote
with a photo of your own pet - all you need is to provide a
photo of reasonable quality.

Most of us think of a tote as a casual bag for shopping, but
you can also get elegant, stylish varieties. If it is leather,
suede, or a leather-fabric combination, a tote can be a good
companion for a work outfit.

Most hobo bags are not expensive. If you do a little bit of
comparison shopping online, you will find fabric and
leather-like bags for under 50 dollars, and quality leather for
under a hundred. That is, of course, for non-designer bags - but
they are of good quality, all the same. If you are after Gucci,
Fendi or Prada totes and hobo purses, though, expect to pay a
few hundred dollars.
